Grants Specialist

The African Climate Foundation (ACF) is seeking a full-time Grants Specialist to join its team, working remotely. ACF is the first African-led organization focused on re-granting for climate change initiatives, aiming to foster long-term socio-economic transformation through grants, research, and advocacy.

Role Overview:
Reporting to the Senior Grants Manager, the Grants Specialist will oversee comprehensive grants management, emphasizing due diligence, compliance, and grant agreement oversight. This role involves collaboration across various departments including Programmes, Finance, and Legal to ensure effective and compliant grantmaking processes.

Main Responsibilities:

• Maintain awareness of funding priorities and trends in philanthropy.
• Manage grant agreements, ensuring compliance with ACF's policies and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee due diligence processes for grants and sponsorships, validating all documentation.
• Administer the grants management system, ensuring accurate data and reporting.
• Coordinate and lead proposal review meetings, supporting decision-making processes.
• Facilitate training on grants management for staff and enhance internal processes.
• Support partners in navigating ACF’s compliance and contracting protocols.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• 5-7 years of experience in grantmaking or program administration.
• Strong knowledge of compliance and due diligence in grant processes.
• Proficient in grant management systems and data integrity.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
