Role Overview: As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will collaborate on developing a reconciliation engine that solidifies financial accuracy across diverse payment data. Your responsibilities will extend beyond backend services to include architecting systems that process, normalize, and reconcile transactions within Nigeria’s intricate payment landscape, which includes banks, POS networks, and third-party providers. Your contributions will significantly enhance how businesses achieve real-time cash visibility and minimize manual reconciliation efforts.

Main Responsibilities:

Design and develop new reconciliation products.
Enhance existing reconciliation solutions.
Create systems to process and normalize transaction data.
Implement automated transaction matching and exception handling workflows.
Ensure high-volume transaction processing with a focus on reliability.
Build audit trails and reporting tools for financial teams.
Work closely with product and finance teams to address real-world reconciliation challenges.

Requirements:

7+ years of backend engineering experience.
Proven expertise in payment systems, fintech platforms, or banking infrastructure in Nigeria.
Strong knowledge of transaction lifecycles, reconciliation concepts, and financial data integrity.
Proficiency in JavaScript, Node.js, and PostgreSQL; familiarity with Python, Java, Go is a plus.
Experience with event-driven systems and high-throughput architectures.
