This role is pivotal in shaping the architecture and enhancing the user experience for the Android app, which serves over 126 million daily active users. The Android Platform team is responsible for developing tools and frameworks that support various teams in delivering exceptional Reddit experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and oversee the architecture of Reddit’s Android app to accommodate future growth.
Enhance the developer experience by creating efficient tools and CI integrations.
Establish operational guidelines to identify common issues early in the development process.
Develop observability frameworks for app health and performance metrics.
Incorporate AI into engineering workflows to boost productivity.
Mentor Android engineers through design reviews and resource sharing.

Qualifications:

8+ years of software development experience, with at least 4 years in Android application development.
Experience with large codebases supporting over 100 engineers and millions of users.
Proficiency in modern Android technologies, including Jetpack Compose and Kotlin Coroutines.
Solid understanding of Android infrastructure and shared libraries.
Experience in applying AI solutions in engineering for measurable improvements.
Ability to lead cross-team initiatives and influence technical strategies.
