AI Engineer

Flutterwave aims to empower every African to engage in the global economy through a reliable payment infrastructure. We are currently seeking an AI Engineer to develop and implement advanced AI systems integrated into our payment framework. This position focuses on creating a locally hosted AI system that can autonomously investigate payment failures, thereby minimizing manual intervention and enhancing payment reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement an LLM-powered agent for automated payment incident analysis.
• Develop internal infrastructure for machine learning to support core processes without external API reliance.
• Create pipelines for effective root cause analysis and automate Level 1 incident investigations.
• Build scalable training and inference pipelines for reusable model components.
• Deploy additional AI applications such as chatbots or automated reporting, ensuring high availability and low latency.
• Establish robust monitoring systems for model performance and drift detection.
• Implement data privacy measures in line with applicable laws and best practices.

Qualifications:

• 4-7+ years of experience in Machine Learning or AI Engineering.
• Proficiency in Python and frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow.
• Experience with large language models and deploying ML systems in production.
• Understanding of evaluation metrics and governance in machine learning.
• Previous experience in fintech or payment sectors is preferred.
