Role Summary: As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will be instrumental in our payment infrastructure, which encompasses mobile money, virtual accounts, and cards throughout Africa. Our data infrastructure utilizes Airflow coupled with a cloud data warehouse, and we leverage Vertex AI for MLOps. You will have the autonomy to develop models, establish systems, and monitor performance in a production environment.
Main Responsibilities:
- Create a payment volume forecasting system tailored for merchants using time-series analysis.
- Develop and maintain fraud and anomaly detection across our payment ecosystem.
- Oversee a dynamic merchant segmentation system.
- Implement monitoring and drift detection for deployed models using Vertex AI.
- Build automation tools to streamline ML processes.
- Engage in strategic product discussions.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience as an ML engineer in production.
- Proficiency in Python and Spark for large-scale data processing.
- Experience with time-series modeling and a solid understanding of the ML lifecycle.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
- Familiarity with Vertex AI and experience in fintech are advantageous.
