QA Backend Engineer

EWA Learn Languages, based in Singapore, is a global EdTech company that has been enhancing language learning since 2017. With over 70 million users and support for 40 languages, our app utilizes engaging content like movies, TV shows, and memes to facilitate effective learning. We are currently seeking a Mid-Level Backend QA Engineer to support our Billing and CRM teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct functional testing focused mainly on backend systems.
• Validate the integration of internal services with external platforms.
• Test workflows across web, mobile applications, and backend services, including payments and notifications.
• Analyze logs and metrics using tools like Grafana and Sentry.
• Identify, report, and monitor bugs through Jira.
• Create and update test documentation using Qase.io.
• Engage in the product development lifecycle and enhance QA processes.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years in backend testing.
• Proficiency in test design methodologies and service integration testing.
• Experience with REST APIs and SQL databases (ClickHouse, MongoDB, PostgreSQL).
• Familiarity with logs analysis and payment systems.
• Strong attention to detail and a results-oriented approach.
• Proficient in English, both written and spoken.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in mobile app testing and CRM.
• Background in fast-paced, data-driven startups.
