Job Overview: Canonical, a leading figure in open source software and operating systems, is looking for an Alliances Field Engineer to assist major partners like Intel, Nvidia, and Google in utilizing our Ubuntu platform. Main Responsibilities:
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of Ubuntu, Linux, and networking in real-world applications.
- Design cloud infrastructure solutions, including Kubernetes and OpenStack, for both on-premises and public cloud settings.
- Integrate open source software such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB with Canonical’s technologies.
- Create joint Reference Architectures and perform technical validations with partners.
- Facilitate onboarding sessions and workshops to showcase Canonical’s offerings.
Requirements:
- Strong proficiency in Linux, particularly Ubuntu, with experience in Kubernetes and Ceph.
- Familiarity with cloud solutions and software automation.
- Proficient troubleshooting skills in Python and Bash.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills in English.
- Willingness to travel globally up to 30% of the time.
- A degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related discipline.
