M-KOPA Nigeria is seeking a Finance Manager to lead financial operations in one of sub-Saharan Africa's largest fintech markets. This role involves building robust financial processes while supporting the growth of a company that provides essential assets to millions of previously underserved customers. As M-KOPA continues to expand, particularly in Nigeria, the Finance Manager will play a key role in shaping financial strategies and reporting frameworks.
Main Responsibilities:
- Oversee monthly management reporting, including executive commentary and IFRS 9 models.
- Manage the end-to-end monthly close process, including accruals, prepayments, and FX.
- Conduct variance analysis to differentiate market effects from one-off items.
- Analyze the loan portfolio and repayment behaviors, managing provisioning and bad debt trends.
- Support regulatory reporting and compliance documentation, while collaborating with the commercial team on financial assessments for product launches.
Requirements:
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (ICAN, ACCA, CA or equivalent) with a solid background in finance management.
- Extensive knowledge of IFRS standards and experience managing audits.
- Strong financial modeling and communication skills.
- Experience with Big 4 firms is advantageous; knowledge of the Nigerian fintech landscape is a plus.
