Position Overview
We seek a Head of Engineering, Supply Chain for our Kenya operations. This role is pivotal as it involves crafting the lending strategy, overseeing the P&L, and ensuring the profitability of Moniepoint's lending operations in Kenya. You will collaborate with various teams such as Product, Data Science, and Risk and Compliance, but your primary focus will be on the commercial success of our SME lending initiatives.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage the lending P&L, ensuring profitability through effective budgeting and portfolio monitoring.
- Establish the commercial and credit strategy, determining targeted SME segments and loan products.
- Develop a profitable SME lending portfolio while maintaining acceptable default rates.
- Define the distribution strategy for reaching SME customers through sales efforts and partner channels.
- Lead the commercial lending team, overseeing day-to-day operations and building strategic partnerships.
Requirements
- A minimum of 8 years of focused experience in lending.
- Demonstrated ownership of a lending P&L, with a strong understanding of revenue and credit loss management.
- Experience building or scaling an SME lending business.
- Strong analytical skills and comfort with lending metrics.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders.
