Job Overview
This position serves as a bridge between Finance and the Product & Technology teams, ensuring that every new product and pricing change is accurately designed from an accounting and control perspective prior to launch. You will manage the entire process from customer interaction to financial reporting, ensuring proper accounting practices are applied throughout.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a technical accounting advisor for all new products and features.
- Draft technical accounting memos for new or altered products, focusing on revenue recognition and financial instrument classification.
- Develop and maintain the chart of accounts for products, ensuring uniformity across the organization.
- Map the customer journey stages to appropriate general ledger treatments.
- Review product specs prior to launch to identify any accounting issues.
- Ensure reconciliation between product data and the general ledger is accurate.
- Collaborate with Financial Control and auditors on technical accounting inquiries.
Candidate Qualifications
- ACA/ACCA (or equivalent) with 8+ years of relevant experience, ideally from a Big 4 background.
- Strong understanding of IFRS 15 and IFRS 9.
- Experience in translating product designs into accounting frameworks.
