About the role
HeliumCare is seeking a Research Specialist to spearhead its research initiatives and engage with various research opportunities within Helium Health. This role involves transforming insights from programs and the organization into scholarly outputs, including journals, abstracts, papers, and conference presentations, while representing Helium in academic and research communities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research & Analysis: Design and analyze research projects based on HeliumCare’s program work and related data. Identify research questions relevant to public health initiatives and collaborate with internal teams to maintain data integrity and research quality.
- Publications & Writing: Author and publish articles, abstracts, and papers derived from research findings. Create white papers, case studies, and reports that effectively communicate research to stakeholders.
- Conferences & External Representation: Seek and secure opportunities for presentations at public health and health tech conferences. Represent HeliumCare at academic events and develop connections with academic institutions and public health networks.
- Positioning & Strategy: Collaborate with program and communications teams to align research outputs with HeliumCare and Helium Health’s public health positioning. Simplify complex research findings for diverse audiences and contribute to grant proposals and funding reports.
Requirements:
- A Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Health Data Science, or a related field, or a medical degree with relevant research experience.
- Proven history of publishing in peer-reviewed journals or presenting at conferences.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills, and proficiency in scientific writing.
- Ability to adapt research for non-academic audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Established relationships within public health or health tech research networks in Nigeria or Africa.
- Experience with grant-funded research.
- Familiarity with health data systems or digital health data.
