Role Overview: FairMoney, a digital mobile bank focused on emerging markets, is seeking an Engineering Manager (Identity) to join its Technology Division. Main Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor engineering squads, promoting a culture of ownership and collaboration.
- Provide technical direction for identity, KYC, and authentication systems.
- Collaborate with Product, Risk, and Compliance teams to implement regulatory requirements into technical solutions.
- Drive the design and development of scalable distributed systems.
- Ensure high standards in architecture, code quality, and system reliability.
- Support engineers in resolving complex challenges and making informed technical decisions.
- Oversee team performance and development, ensuring the squad has necessary skills for success.
- Monitor system performance and implement continuous technical improvements.
- Contribute to engineering strategy and influence the technology roadmap for Identity.
Requirements:
- 7+ years in software engineering, with a focus on backend development.
- 2+ years managing software engineering teams.
- Experience in building reliable production systems and a solid understanding of engineering principles.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Experience in fintech or regulated financial services is preferred.
