Position Overview
Monnify, our online payment acceptance platform, serves as the interface connecting merchants to card networks, banks, and payment aggregators. We are seeking a Head of Engineering for the Payment Gateway, who will drive the technical vision and framework of our platform, ensuring optimal scalability, security, and user experience. This role involves overseeing multiple engineering teams, establishing strategic architecture, and maintaining platform reliability and security across various features.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee the technical strategy and roadmap for the Monnify platform.
- Lead engineering teams, setting quality standards and enhancing organizational capabilities.
- Manage the entire developer experience, including APIs, documentation, and SDK integration.
- Guide the platform’s evolution towards international and multi-currency support.
- Collaborate with product, commercial, and operations teams to align technical initiatives with business objectives.
- Recruit and mentor engineering managers and senior engineers.
Requirements:
10+ years in software engineering, including 5+ in leadership roles. Strong Java programming and backend engineering skills, particularly in payment systems. Experience managing engineering leaders and familiarity with API-first products and compliance in fintech.
