M-KOPA Mobility is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to enhance our expanding e-mobility business. This is an initial 12-month Fixed Term Contract with potential for extension or transition to a permanent position. Your work will focus on developing event-driven microservices that facilitate affordable and clean transportation across Africa.
Your Impact: The transportation sector in Africa is vast and underserved, with an accelerating shift towards electric solutions. Your contributions will empower Kenya's premier e-mobility financing platform, having already financed over 11,000 electric motorbikes, helping riders save significantly while reducing air pollution by 90%.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop sophisticated event-driven microservices.
- Oversee projects from architecture to production monitoring.
- Collaborate in a DevOps culture emphasizing high-quality output and automated testing.
Technical Requirements:
- Proficiency in C#/.NET and event-driven systems (Service Bus, Kafka, RabbitMQ).
- Experience with microservices architecture and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Knowledge of containerization (Kubernetes, Docker) and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana).
- Familiarity with AI coding tools is a plus.
