Position Summary
We are on the lookout for a seasoned Senior Data Engineer to spearhead the design, implementation, and deployment of an enterprise-level, AI-ready Data Lakehouse platform. This position is vital for establishing a foundational data layer crucial for a large-scale digital transformation project that will support AI agents and knowledge graph systems. The ideal candidate will possess extensive software engineering expertise with an emphasis on data pipelines, architecture, and scalable systems.
Main Responsibilities
- Lakehouse Architecture: Design and implement a Data Lakehouse using the Medallion architecture on cloud platforms located in Saudi Arabia.
- Data Ingestion: Develop automated ingestion frameworks for both structured and unstructured data.
- Data Governance: Establish automated data quality measures and comprehensive data lineage tracking.
- Optimization: Enhance data workflows for better performance and cost-effectiveness.
- System Maintenance: Oversee data systems and address urgent operational issues.
- Security Compliance: Ensure adherence to national cybersecurity standards and implement robust security protocols.
- Capability Building: Conduct training sessions and create operational documentation.
Requirements
Applicants should have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Data Engineering, including 2 years in Data Lakehouse implementations. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Java, alongside experience with distributed systems and cloud infrastructure, is essential. Strong analytical and leadership skills are also required.
