Role Overview
We are seeking a Software Engineer specializing in AI Tooling Infrastructure to join our AI Tooling team. This individual will focus on developing and maintaining the backend services that power Supabase's AI offerings, such as the MCP server, while collaborating with various internal teams including Platform, SRE, and Auth.

Main Responsibilities

• Develop and manage production backend services for AI products, ensuring efficient deployment and scaling.
• Own the architecture of these services, optimizing structures for safety and flexibility.
• Establish and monitor reliability standards in partnership with the SRE team.
• Participate in the on-call rotation for incident management and documentation.
• Address support requests and convert recurring issues into systematic solutions.
• Oversee authentication and authorization mechanisms for AI clients.
• Enhance observability metrics, logs, and alerts for proactive problem detection.
• Manage capacity and abuse control for agent traffic.
• Collaborate on shared code and infrastructure practices with other teams.
• Contribute to the AI Tooling team’s codebase, particularly on reliability and security matters.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in backend services with on-call responsibilities.
• Proficient in TypeScript or Go, with capability in both.
• Experience designing APIs and understanding OAuth and JWT.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL and CI/CD processes.
• Strong debugging skills across multiple services.
• Excellent written communication and ability to work in asynchronous, distributed teams.
