Canonical seeks skilled software engineers to join our Metal As A Service (MAAS) team, which is pivotal in advancing our open-source platform, Ubuntu, for enterprise applications in cloud computing, AI, and IoT. Main Responsibilities

  • Develop core components and features of MAAS to establish it as the leading bare metal cloud system.
  • Enhance the architecture of MAAS for improved simplicity, speed, and usability.
  • Work collaboratively with various teams to ensure seamless integration and timely releases.
  • Contribute to continuous integration, testing practices, and documentation to support Data Centre operators.
  • Engage in technical communication across teams and take ownership of problem-solving initiatives.
  • Travel internationally several times a year to collaborate with teams.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Python or Go for backend roles, or TypeScript and React for frontend roles.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with a solid background in Linux server technologies.
  • Knowledge of networking and storage technologies, along with experience in cloud infrastructure.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related fields.
  • Familiarity with open-source development tools and methodologies.
