Staff Software Engineer for Identity Management
About the role
Canonical, a prominent provider of open-source software and operating systems, is seeking a Staff-level Software Engineer specializing in Identity Management. This role focuses on enhancing authorization and access management across Canonical's enterprise products and web services, utilizing Go (Golang) and Python.
As a key member of the Identity Management team, you will:
- Modernize and expand identity management capabilities for authentication and authorization.
- Develop web service APIs for CLI and web frontend clients.
- Design and implement new features from specifications to production.
- Review code to uphold quality standards.
- Create and enhance API endpoints for management, authentication, and authorization.
- Drive the adoption of leading IAM technologies across our platforms.
- Write Juju charms to handle operational aspects.
Remote work is available within the EMEA and AMER regions, with travel required 2 to 4 weeks annually for team gatherings.
To qualify for this position, you should:
- Be a seasoned software engineer with experience in identity and access management.
- Understand open-source software and identity protocols (e.g., OpenID, OAuth, LDAP).
- Have a background in implementing authorization frameworks in distributed systems.
- Value secure coding practices and thrive in collaborative environments.
- Be comfortable using Ubuntu as a development platform.
