Main Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Product Management to shape the vision and strategy for automotive initiatives.
- Develop and execute an engineering roadmap for the automotive team.
- Represent Canonical and Ubuntu within the automotive community and in interactions with customers and partners.
- Lead the strategy for our Linux distribution and open-source software tailored for automotive applications.
- Build and manage a globally distributed engineering team, fostering collaboration and technical excellence.
- Promote modern agile development practices and a positive engineering culture.
Requirements:
- Strong background in software engineering, Linux, and open-source development.
- Familiarity with automotive standards such as ISO21434 and ISO26262, with experience in compliant product development.
- Proficient in C/C++ and Python programming.
- Experience in functional safety and embedded systems within an automotive context.
- Proven leadership in managing and mentoring software developers.
- Experience in agile development environments.
