Threat Intelligence Lead

Position: Threat Intelligence Lead

Canonical is seeking a Threat Intelligence Lead responsible for shaping and executing our threat intelligence strategy. This role involves analyzing cyber threat actors targeting Canonical and leveraging intelligence on Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTP) to enhance our products and internal cybersecurity measures. Reporting to the CISO, you will engage with internal teams and the broader cybersecurity community, positioning Canonical as a leader in open source threat intelligence.

Main Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage Canonical’s threat intelligence strategy.
• Create OSINT research environments and develop relevant techniques.
• Identify and analyze cyber threats and trends, particularly regarding software supply chains.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to communicate cybersecurity threats and propose mitigation strategies.
• Contribute to the open source threat intelligence community.
• Conduct briefings for executives and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Experience in threat intelligence or a related field.
• Understanding of the open source threat landscape and networking concepts.
• Proficiency with OSINT tools and data analysis.
• Strong communication skills to convey technical information to diverse audiences.
• Ability to travel for company events twice a year.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Portfolio of OSINT tools or scripts.
• Involvement in the OSINT community.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information security, or related fields.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., GOSI, SANS).
