Head of Data

Ziina is seeking a Head of Data to establish and lead a new Data team, presenting a unique opportunity to integrate AI, predictive analytics, and experimentation across all teams at Ziina. This pivotal role will involve utilizing our extensive payment data and robust platform infrastructure to enhance various functions, from customer experience to product development. As a founding leader within a dynamic team, the ideal candidate will be a proactive builder, capable of designing platforms from scratch and prioritizing impactful projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and manage the vision, strategy, and roadmap for data, machine learning (ML), and artificial intelligence (AI) at Ziina.
• Enhance existing data frameworks, ensuring accessibility and usability for both humans and AI systems.
• Lead and develop the Data team, starting with current engineers and expanding with new talent as needed.
• Create self-service ML, LLM, and experimentation platforms for company-wide use.
• Collaborate with various departments to identify and deliver high-impact use cases.
• Implement AI governance in compliance with regulatory standards for financial institutions.

Requirements:

• 8+ years in data, ML, or AI engineering, with 3+ years in leadership roles.
• Experience building core ML infrastructure and shipping ML/AI products to production.
• Hands-on proficiency in Python, SQL, and familiarity with experimentation methodologies.
• Ability to translate technical insights into business impact.
• Willingness to relocate to or be based in the UAE.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in fintech or regulated industries.
• Previous success in developing data platforms from the ground up.
• Engagement in the tech community through open-source contributions or speaking.
