Reporting To: Associate Director – HSS and Sustainability
Role Overview: The Senior Technical Advisor for Laboratory Services plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality and efficiency of laboratory services within the HIV/TB program. This position focuses on providing strategic and technical guidance to improve laboratory systems across regions, councils, and healthcare facilities.
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead the enhancement of laboratory services for HIV, TB, and HPV DNA.
- Support the implementation of national laboratory standards and policies.
- Strengthen laboratory systems, including testing and quality assurance for various diagnostics.
- Monitor and analyze laboratory performance indicators to inform program adjustments.
- Facilitate training and mentorship for laboratory staff and healthcare providers.
- Engage with stakeholders to ensure alignment with governmental health strategies.
Requirements:
- A graduate or postgraduate degree in Medicine, Nursing, Public Health, or Project Management.
- Must be registered with the Clinical Laboratories Boards in Tanzania.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in laboratory service coordination.
- Familiarity with laboratory machinery and digital systems.
- Strong communication skills and experience in multicultural team environments.
