Position Overview
We are seeking a Head of Engineering, Field Verification to lead our remote team in South Africa. This role is crucial for ensuring the authenticity of users and businesses on our platform through comprehensive field verification processes, essential for KYC compliance.

Main Responsibilities

• Define the technical strategy, architecture, and roadmap for the Field Verification platform.
• Transform operations from maintenance mode to focused development.
• Lead and expand the cross-functional engineering team.
• Enhance operational efficiency via trip optimization and task allocation.
• Manage the platform’s APIs and webhooks for integration with other business units.
• Develop a native mobile application for field officers.
• Ensure compliance through structured and auditable verification data.
• Facilitate multi-country expansion as Moniepoint grows.
• Collaborate with product and business units on platform requirements.
• Establish engineering processes and quality metrics.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with strong backend proficiency (Java, Spring Boot).
• 5+ years in engineering leadership roles, managing teams effectively.
• Experience in building platforms that serve various user groups.
• Strong problem-solving skills with adaptability across disciplines (backend, web, mobile).
• Familiarity with location data and compliance standards is a plus.
