Position Overview
We are seeking a Head of Engineering, Rewards based in Kenya, following our acquisition of Sumac Microfinance Bank. This role is pivotal as it will lay the groundwork for our operations in Kenya and influence future market entries. You will be responsible for transforming our cashback product into a comprehensive rewards and engagement platform for our 23 million users.
Main Responsibilities
- Oversee the technical strategy and architecture of the Rewards Platform.
- Enhance the existing cashback product and evolve it into a robust rewards platform.
- Build and scale the engineering team from nine to a minimum of 25 members.
- Foster a culture of experimentation and data-driven decision-making.
- Collaborate with Growth, Sales, and Marketing to meet acquisition and retention goals.
- Ensure high-quality user experiences across mobile and web interfaces.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 5 years in leadership roles.
- Proven experience in direct-to-consumer product engineering at scale.
- Strong front-end and mobile development expertise.
- Hands-on experience with A/B testing and growth engineering.
- Familiarity with Java and Spring Boot is preferred.
