Position Overview
We are currently seeking a Head of Engineering for Supply Chain to join our remote team in South Africa. This role focuses on the software that manages our POS hardware, covering inventory control, logistics, maintenance, and operational tooling. The Head of Engineering will lead the technical strategy and manage a team of around 25 engineers, playing a crucial role in our international expansion.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop the technical strategy for inventory and logistics software.
- Lead an engineering team, ensuring operational data integrity across millions of devices.
- Bridge operational practices with software solutions.
- Establish architecture standards and engineering processes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate operational needs into technical solutions.
- Mentor and grow the engineering team to support future expansion.
Requirements
- 10-15 years in software engineering with 5 years in leadership roles.
- Hands-on experience in Java development.
- Experience managing engineering leaders and large teams.
- Knowledge of supply chain and logistics software.
- Strong backend engineering capabilities for distributed systems.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills.
