Platform Engineer

Position Overview: Ziina is seeking a Platform Engineer (Developer Enablement) to become a key member of our team. This essential role will allow you to shape internal tools, enhance developer experiences, and elevate backend quality from the ground up. You will significantly influence how engineers build, test, and deploy software, establishing best practices and quality systems that will be utilized throughout the engineering team. As we navigate a pivotal growth phase, we need someone to set the standard for backend software development. You will be part of a dynamic team where innovative problem-solving and end-to-end ownership of systems are crucial.

Main Responsibilities:

• Create internal tools, service templates, and shared libraries to standardize backend service development.
• Enhance backend developer workflows for efficient local development, debugging, and testing.
• Design and manage testing frameworks and CI-integrated quality systems.
• Develop self-service options for common engineering tasks to reduce platform bottlenecks.
• Increase visibility into system quality and release confidence across the engineering team.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to identify and address workflow challenges with superior tooling.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years in Platform Engineering, Backend Engineering, or Developer Experience roles.
• Proficient in backend engineering, especially with Typescript/Node.js, and understanding of microservices.
• Experience creating internal tools, shared libraries, or service templates.
• Familiar with testing frameworks, CI integration, and quality assurance.
• Product-oriented mindset regarding internal tools, focusing on user productivity.
• Willingness to relocate to or already based in the UAE.
