Your Role: As a Software Engineer at Alpaca, you will design, implement, and maintain the systems that underpin Alpaca Crypto, facilitating transactions for millions of users. We are looking for an experienced engineer with a commitment to quality and innovation, capable of working independently and collaboratively to define and achieve project goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain Alpaca's crypto exchange and market-making systems.
• Create wallet, funding, and tokenization services.
• Implement backend services and applications while ensuring software quality.
• Participate in code reviews and troubleshoot incidents.
• Be available for on-call support for urgent engineering tasks.

Qualifications:

• Experience with trading systems, crypto, and building regulated financial systems.
• Minimum of 4 years in backend development with proficiency in a modern programming language.
• Familiarity with databases, messaging systems, and cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and microservices is a plus.
