Role Summary
We are seeking a Senior Site Reliability / GitOps Engineer to join our Information Systems (IS) team. This position is ideal for a senior technologist with a strong focus on automation and a passion for Linux. You will enhance operational automation and support services for over 60 million Ubuntu users, leveraging open source infrastructure and development practices.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead automation and GitOps initiatives as a tech lead.
- Collaborate with IS architects to ensure alignment with architectural vision.
- Design and develop IS service offerings as products.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices for increased automation.
- Maintain operational oversight of Canonical’s core services and infrastructure.
- Utilize observability tools for monitoring and alerting across systems.
- Provide support to globally distributed engineering and operations teams.
- Engage in mentorship and knowledge sharing within the team.
Requirements
- Experience with IaC, Python, and Kubernetes.
- Strong knowledge of Linux networking and cloud infrastructure.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, distributed environments.
