Role Overview
We are seeking a Site Reliability / Gitops Engineer to join our Information Systems (IS) team. This position is ideal for a technology enthusiast with expertise in automation and Linux, focusing on enhancing operations for Ubuntu users worldwide.
Main Responsibilities
- Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to improve automation practices within IS.
- Automate software operations for consistency across both private and public clouds.
- Enhance the resilience of Canonical’s cloud services and container offerings.
- Manage operational responsibilities for Canonical's core services and infrastructure.
- Develop observability tools and maintain monitoring for various systems.
- Collaborate with development teams to enhance service architecture and operational procedures.
- Participate in a globally distributed team supporting Canonical’s services.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in defining operations in code, with familiarity in version control and CI/CD.
- Strong background in software engineering and Python development.
- Practical knowledge of Linux networking and server administration.
- Understanding of cloud computing technologies.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Passion for open-source technologies, especially Ubuntu or Debian.
