Software Engineer - Test Automation

Job Overview

At Mach9, we are seeking a Test Automation Engineer to ensure the integrity of our browser-based 3D CAD platform used by civil engineers and surveyors. As part of our team, you will manage automated checks that provide quick and reliable results, covering everything from data uploads to deliverable exports. This position is designed for engineers experienced in developing and maintaining automated test suites for web applications and capable of diagnosing issues through application code and infrastructure.

Main Responsibilities

• Enhance automated testing coverage for our CAD editor and related pages.
• Advance our test infrastructure and continuous integration (CI) to maintain speed and reliability as coverage expands.
• Develop tools for coding agents to help replicate failures and verify fixes.
• Identify and eliminate flaky tests to ensure that failures indicate genuine bugs.
• Improve the testability of our 3D editor for automatic testing of user workflows.
• Assist fellow engineers in crafting testable code and robust tests for new features.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years in building and maintaining automated test suites for production web applications using tools like Playwright, Cypress, or WebdriverIO.
• Strong skills in TypeScript or JavaScript, with the ability to read and modify application code.
• Experience in developing end-to-end (E2E) test frameworks, including features like test data management and flakiness control.
• Knowledge of integrating tests into CI pipelines while ensuring efficiency.
• Interest in AI-assisted development and enhancing software quality.
